FROM: ULSTER COUNTY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE DATE: August 20, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AUGUST 20, 2003 Blackout Damage Information Ulster County Legislature Chairman Richard Gerentine would like all Ulster County businesses to be aware that Ulster County is working with New York State to obtain data on losses incurred as a result of last week’s blackout. This data will be used to substantiate a request for a Small Business Association (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster. The losses sustained can be from a loss of product (supermarket food spoilage), manufacturing defects due to equipment shut down, revenue loss from lack of customers, etc. Any business that has incurred such an uninsured loss should provide notice, in writing, to the Ulster County Emergency Management Office, 238 Golden Hill Lane, Kingston, NY 12401. It is important to remember that this is an information gathering process only, no programs or funds have been approved. Additional information can be obtained from the Ulster County Emergency Management Office at 331-7000. |
