County Seeks Storm Damage Information from Residents

The extraordinary amount of rainfall on August 30, 2004 has left many homes and businesses in Ulster County with property damage. The Ulster County Emergency Management Office is asking that anyone with damage to their home or business from this storm to contact the American Red Cross at 338-7020 until 5:30 P.M. this evening.

If you need assistance please have the following information available: the address of the effected property, description of the damage, an estimated cost to repair the damage, market value of the property, any insurance information, any hardships the family is suffering as a direct result of the storm, and is this your primary residences.

Ulster County Legislature Chairman Richard A. Gerentine stated that he is "hopeful that the damage information received from residents qualifies for Federal Disaster Funding, which will offset any damage to their property."
