FROM: ULSTER COUNTY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE DATE: September 10, 2004 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEPTEMBER 10, 2004 Highlights of September 9, 2004 Legislative Session At the September 9, 2004 Session of the Ulster County Legislature, legislators unanimously passed a resolution authorizing the issuance of serial bonds in the amount of $209,612.00 to pay the cost of Ulster Landing Park Shoreline Restoration project located at 4318 Ulster Landing Road, Saugerties, New York. Chairman Gerentine called upon Legislator Wayne Harris, Chairman of the Economic Development/Education, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Committee, to present a National Association of Counties (NACO) 2004 Achievement Award to Cynthia Ruiz, Director of Ulster County Area Transit, for the Transit Information Program for Students (TIPS) program. Chairman Gerentine then called upon Legislator Alice Tipp, Chairman of the General Services/Community Services Committee, to present two National Association of Counties (NACO) 2004 Achievement Awards to Kathryn Puglisi, Director of Office for the Aging and MaryJo DeForest, Deputy Director of Geriatric Services, for the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Services program and for the Keeping Seniors in the Driver’s Seat program. Chairman Gerentine then called upon Legislators Harris and Tipp to present a Proclamation to the Ulster County Cooperative Extension Board, declaring October 3-9, 2004 as Cornell Cooperative Extension Week and National 4-H Week in Ulster County. The next meeting of the Ulster County Legislature will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2004, 7:00 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Sixth Floor, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York. |
