Gerald Benjamin, Chairman of the Ulster County Charter Commission, has announced that the first meeting of the Ulster County Charter Commission will be held on Monday, September 20 at 7:00 P.M. in the Library Conference room located on the sixth floor of the Ulster County Office Building. The meeting will be approximately two hours in length. All are urged to attend.

Items on the agenda will include:

1. Informal introduction of members.
2. Introduction of Planning Department staff who will support the Commission’s work.
3. Designation of a Vice-Chairman to convene the commission in the absence of the chairman.
4. Comments and questions by Commissioners on briefing materials.
5. Commissioner’s priorities for research and presentations.
6. "Does Ulster County Need a Charter?" – An initial discussion.
7. A Presentation by Gene Blabey, Chair of the Drafting Committee, Sullivan County Charter will be made.
