Ulster County Clerk’s Office Exhibit

Ulster County Clerk’s Office exhibit features archival documents pertaining to the formation of government in Ulster County and inaugurates a permanent Archival Exhibit Gallery at the County Clerk’s Office on the 2nd floor of the County Office Building.

This exhibit is the Grand Opening of the Ulster County Quadricentennial History Committee’s schedule of events.

  • Exhibit Location:Ulster County Clerk’s Archival Gallery, 2nd Floor, Ulster County Office Building,
  • Exhibit Duration: April 2, 2009 through August 31, 2009
  • Records Exhibited: Records that illustrate the formation of government from the Charter of the Dutch Court at Kingston dated 1661 through and including the newest Ulster County Charter.
  • Other Information: The completed archival video titled “Archives Alive! The Power of the Records” will be unveiled. The video will be available for all to view throughout the exhibit duration.

There will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony officially opening the County Clerk’s Archives Gallery.


Senate House State Historic Site Exhibit

The Senate House State Historic Site exhibit focuses on the “depth and breadth” of archival material, that reflects important moments in time from the past 400 years.

  • Exhibit Location: Senate House Museum and Loughran House
  • Exhibit Duration: April 18, 2009 through October 31, 2009
  • Records Exhibited: Fascinating documents from Senate House and other Ulster County repositories.
  • Other Information: The completed archival video titled “Archives Alive! The Power of the Records” will be available for viewing throughout the exhibit duration.

Historic Huguenot Street Exhibit

Historic Huguenot Street exhibit features archeological research on local Native American and Contact Period history highlighting recent archeological findings.

  • Title: “Before Hudson: 8,0000 Years of Native Esopus Culture”
  • Grand Opening: Friday, April 24, 2009
  • Exhibit Location: Historic Huguenot Street, DuBois Fort Visitor Center
  • Exhibit Duration: April 24, 2009 through October 31, 2009
  • Records Exhibited: The exhibit details the history of Native Americans at Historic Huguenot Street and is based on hundred of artifacts discovered in archaeological digs of the six- acre site, a National Historic Landmark.
  • Other Information: The completed archival video titled “Archives Alive! The Power of the Records” will be available for viewing throughout the exhibit duration.
