- The exhibits, scheduled to run from April to October 2009, consist of historically significant documents and artifacts dating from pre-written history through the twenty-first century.
- A video titled “Archives Alive! The Power of the Record” has been created, showing the numerous ways in which archives are used today, for everything from genealogical research to underwater archaeology.
- Publication Legacy Project The Ulster County Clerk's Office will be show-casing two publications that will function to bring some of their archival records to students, scholars and the general public.
- Special events planned will honor Native American descendents of the region’s indigenous people, and commemorate the history and culture of the Dutch and African-American heritages that together have enriched our past and shape our future.
The combination of the exhibits, video, and special events will create greater awareness of the enduring historical and educational value of our public and private archives. At the same time, they promote and celebrate ethnic diversity and cultural awareness throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond, highlighting for the world, what we were and what we have become.
