The County Attorney prosecutes and defends all civil actions and proceedings brought by or against the County, and is the legal advisor to the County Legislature and all County officers in matters involving an official act of a civil nature. The County Attorney is also responsible for prosecuting juveniles in the Ulster County Family Court, and for out-of-state support collection cases. In addition, the County Attorney's office serves as the "Contract Manager" for the County Government and, as such, establishes contract protocols and exercises general oversight with regard to all contracts entered into by the County.
