The Purchasing Department purchases goods and services for all Ulster County departments. Its mission is to secure the best quality product or service for the best price in accordance with New York State laws and regulations established for government purchasing. All contracts are processed through the Purchasing Department. All bids are available through our website.  All contracts are processed through the Contract Management and Purchasing Departments.

Vendor List: Vendors desiring to get on the County Vendor List should go to the Ulster County website, click on Purchasing, click on vendor registration, and follow the directions to register as part of the Hudson Valley Municipal Purchasing Group, the e-notification system used by Ulster County.

Method of Payment: For Capital Bid Package Deposits, checks should be made payable to the Ulster County Treasurer and mailed to the Ulster County Purchasing Department.

The Purchasing Department also oversees the following two functions:

Central Auto: The Fleet Maintenance Facilitator is responsible for facilitating the efficient scheduling of preventative maintenance, inspection and repair of the Ulster County automotive fleet, excluding the Highways and Bridges Department and Ulster County Area Transit. This includes tracking maintenance and repair activities with a computerized fleet management program, tracking repair and maintenance costs, and making lease and replacement decisions. Also maintains mileage logs and pooled car requests submitted by departments.

Central Services: Responsible for handling interoffice mail and the sorting, stamping, processing and distribution of all U.S. mail. Additionally, provides printing, and duplicating services for County departments.
