Ulster County Criminal Justice Integration Project
About the Project
The Ulster County Criminal Justice Integration Project is designed to increase operational efficiencies throughout the criminal justice community through the development of an integrated storage and dissemination system of arrest, court, and ancillary data. The criminal justice agencies in this county have identified the paramount need to improve access to critical criminal justice information across agencies, increase the quality of the information, and to allow for opportunities to empirical understand the efficiency of the overall criminal justice system in the county. With this in mind this county-wide integration project will serve to establish an electronic infrastructure whereby criminal justice agencies share information in an accurate, complete, accessible, and timely manner on individuals and events for criminal justice and non-criminal justice users and to develop a data warehouse to help analyze trends and/or decisions made by policy makers throughout the Criminal Justice system.
Objectives
- To improve the effectiveness of the county’s criminal justice system by providing a common reporting data repository that will be easy to use and will lend itself to the analysis of the county’s jail population
- To improve the efficiency of the county’s criminal justice system by reducing duplicative manual effort and overall system-related costs
