The Office of Employment and Training represents a welcoming environment of community-oriented, service-driven professionals, who provide a wide range of work readiness options and business services in collaboration with community partners, for Ulster County residents.
The Office of Employment & Training’s primary mission is to provide job seekers in Ulster County with the services, training, and tools they need to maximize their potential and secure employment, while also ensuring that local businesses have access to a skilled and qualified workforce. To support this mission, funding for classroom instruction may be available to eligible customers to upgrade their skills or learn new ones to achieve their career goals. Training opportunities are focused on occupations with strong potential for placement and long-term employment, and programs may change based on the local economy, labor market conditions, and the availability of federal funding.
We fund on-the-job training and young adult internships through employers, and provide career readiness workshops in Ellenville, at the Restorative Justice and Community Empowerment Center in Kingston, and at other agencies within the community.
