Economic Revitalization

Ulster County is dedicated to building a thriving and resilient local economy by supporting local businesses, strengthening the agriculture sector, and investing in the future of our workforce. By championing revitalization efforts and expanding opportunities for job seekers, we are laying the groundwork for long-term prosperity.

Through partnerships with SUNY Ulster, Ulster BOCES, and the County Office of Employment and Training, residents have access to job training, career education, and job placement services. These programs help residents gain skills, access internships, and connect with employment opportunities across a range of industries.

Supporting Agriculture

Ulster County is bolstering the economic and environmental resilience of our local farms through initiatives like the Farm Viability Grant Program, updates to the Agriculture and Farmland Protection Plan, and the creation of an agriculture revolving loan fund.

RestoreNY

The Restore New York Communities Initiative, administered by Empire State Development, provides funding to municipalities for the demolition, rehabilitation, and redevelopment of blighted properties. We have secured $11.6 million in RestoreNY funds for Ulster County.
