Adult Protective Services

Adult Protective Services helps people over the age of 18 who, because of physical or mental impairments, are unable to provide for their own needs or protect themselves from abuse or neglect, and have no one who can responsibly assist them.

Adult Services

The Adult Services Unit is comprised of the Adult Protective Unit and the Personal Care Unit. Our centralized intake process provides access to all DSS Adult Services and Office for the Aging Programs.

Affordable Rental Upgrade Program

The Affordable Rental Upgrade Program (ARUP) provides funds to assist landlords with upgrades for rental apartments serving low to moderate-income renters in Ulster County.

Apply for Funding for Youth Programs

Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Reimbursement Grants support local organizations that provide services and opportunities for young people throughout Ulster County.

Apply for Legal Representation in Family Court

If you have a case in Family Court and cannot afford an attorney, you may qualify for free legal defense from a Public Defender.

Apply for the Women, Infant and Children Nutrition Program (WIC)

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or caring for an infant or child under age 5, you may be eligible for eWIC cards, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and service referrals.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

Highly individualized mental health treatment for adults with serious psychiatric disorders who have been unable to benefit from traditional treatment. All referrals are made through Ulster County SPOA.
