County Honors 22 Local Youth at Inaugural Sojourner Truth Awards

County Executive Jen Metzger and Chief Diversity Officer Dina Suggs led a ceremony with community leaders, educators, and families on Nov. 22, at St. James United Methodist Church in Kingston to present the inaugural Ulster County Sojourner Truth Awards, honoring outstanding high school students who embody the spirit of one of Ulster County's most extraordinary native daughters.

Former County Clerk Nina Postupack Honored with Dedication Ceremony

Many joined today to honor Nina Postupack, former Ulster County Clerk, with a dedication ceremony at the Ulster County Office Building. The ceremony marked the official unveiling of the newly named Nina A. Postupack Archives Gallery, a permanent tribute to Postupack’s 45 years of distinguished public service and her lifelong commitment to historical preservation.

2024 School Bus Driver of the Year and Charles Schaller Awards

Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger is pleased to announce that the 2024 Ulster County School Bus Driver of the Year Award winner is Gale Borden, a long-time school bus driver for the Onteora Central School District, and this year’s recipient of the Charles Schaller Award is Tom Polk, who recently retired as the Coordinator of the Kingston YMCA Bicycle Program.
