Youth Board

Advises the Youth Bureau Director, County Executive, and Legislature on youth issues. Recommends ways to support and coordinate all youth-serving agencies in Ulster County. Helps the Youth Bureau Director review applications for funding.

Membership Rules

The Youth Board shall consist of 15 members who shall be appointed to terms of three years by the County Legislature and confirmed by the Legislature. No member of the Youth Board shall hold any other County or state office and members of the Youth Board shall elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman for a term of one year. Various other County Officials serve as ex officio members on the Youth Board.

Mission

  • The Ulster County Youth Board supports the well-being of youth by advising on policies and programs that prevent delinquency and promote development. The Board assists the Youth Bureau Director with funding reviews and coordinates efforts among public and private agencies.
