Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP)

Using a survivor-centered approach, the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP) provides comprehensive crime victims' services to all members of the community, including a 24-hour sexual assault/domestic violence hotline.

Since our inception in 1979, we have been providing survivors of crime a voice in the Criminal Justice System.

Our program is specifically designed for recognizing the special needs, concerns and problems associated with being a victim of crime. All information is kept confidential and there is no pressure to prosecute.

Who does the Crime Victims Assistance Program help?

Any Ulster resident who has been the innocent victim of a crime (past or present) can call or stop by our office. Assistance is available whether or not you choose to report the crime to the police. Spanish speaking counselors are available.

Some examples of individuals we serve who have been victimized as a result of:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Assault
  • Sexual Violence
  • Robbery
  • Stalking
  • Drunk Driving
  • Elder Abuse
  • Homicide
