The Ulster County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board (AFPB) met on May 29, 2025 to make its recommendation(PDF, 115KB) that the New York State Certified Agricultural District Program include 16 whole tax parcels, approximately 802 acres.
The Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution 327-25(PDF, 114KB) on August 19, 2025 recommending 15 parcels, approximately 800 acres, be included in a state certified agricultural district.
On October 17, 2025 the Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets for the State of New York certified inclusion(PDF, 54KB) of 15 parcels, officially making each a part of an agricultural district.
Applications came in for properties in the Towns of Marbletown, Olive, Saugerties, Shawangunk, and Wawarsing.
