Are You Being Investigated by CPS?
Know Your Rights
- You have the right to speak to a lawyer.
- Anything you say to CPS can be used against you in court.
- You are not required to sign releases, until a court orders you to.
- You are not required to drug test, until a court orders you to.
- You are not required to let CPS in your home, until a court orders you to.
- Important! CPS can ask the Family Court for orders that allow them to enter your home and talk to your children.
- Try to remain calm. Tell the CPS worker if you want to speak to an attorney before answering questions about your family.
