Additional UCAT Service for Port Ewen and New Paltz Added

Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger today announced that Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) will add two routes, effective Tuesday, December 9, to serve New Paltz and Port Ewen. These routes are being added in response to community feedback she received through listening sessions and surveys following the September 15 route changes.

County Executive Calls for State Action on Boiceville Water Outage

County Executive Metzger has sent a formal letter to NYS Department of Public Service CEO Rory Christian urging immediate action to address a water outage in Boiceville that has left residents without potable water for 22 days. The outage stems from a failure in Hudson Valley Water Company’s arsenic removal system and is the latest in a long history of service breakdowns and regulatory violations.

Final Draft of Route Optimization Plan to be Presented to Public Nov 6

The Ulster County Transportation Council (UCTC) and Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) are inviting the public to review and comment on a new set of proposed bus routes and schedules as part of a Route Optimization Plan. The final draft scenario outlining how transit service could evolve in Ulster County will be introduced at two public sessions on Thursday, November 6.

Banjo Bridge Closure in Rochester Beginning Sept. 23

The Ulster County Department of Public Works will temporarily close County Bridge #16, known as Banjo Bridge, located on Dug Road in the Town of Rochester beginning Tuesday, September 23, for a full bridge replacement. The estimated completion date is late fall 2025.

UC Residents to Have Their Say in Fortis-Central Hudson Rate Case
