The Department of Mental Health coordinates and builds connections between service providers, partner organizations, and community members to strengthen our systems of care.

As the designated Local Governmental Unit (LGU) under NYS Mental Hygiene Law, we oversee publicly funded services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities within Ulster County’s behavioral health system.

We also coordinate more broadly with the many service providers that make up Ulster County's mental and behavioral health system. We work with providers to ensure service are accessible, high-quality, and effective.
